Jeg har veldig lyst til å dele litt informasjon om dette diktet. Jeg kom over det for endel år siden og det gjorde sterkt inntrykk og har ikke sluppet taket. Dikt, kunst, musikk og dans er jo alle interessante former for å uttrykke seg på som kan sette dype spor..

Da jeg først kom over dette diktet leste jeg at det hadde stått på veggen i et barnehjem opprettet av Mor Theresa i Calcutta. Det lyder slik:

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered.

Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.

Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some unfathful friends ang some genuine enemies.

Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and sincere, people may deceive you.

Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight.

Create anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous.

Be happy anyway.

The good you do today will often be forgotten.

Be good anyway.

Give the best you have, and it will never be enough.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God.

Selv sitter jeg igjen med tanken om at man må velge hvem man vil være selv og ikke tenke så mye på hvem andre velger å være.

Det er mye frihet i det.
